poem for seren books christmas card

I submitted to Seren books the verse below for their Christmas card competition – I didn’t win but…

Reunited

Here we are once more, our bodies remember
the bends and hollows of each other,
wrapped against the winter’s chill,
nestled.

Your confident heart
reverberates my slight frame.
My hesitant heart
quickens with your steadiness.
They beat their dance, a knowing tune
a rhythm of remembrance
young and light
once more.

blog update January 2018

It’s been a year since I started recording poems here, mainly about experiences with my little ones. M is now one and R four, so inevitably ‘these words’ will change too. I’m exploring writing, as the oxytocin laden words of newborn first love (luckily for me, more than once) change, and they grow.

This site now has a ‘news’ page and ‘prints.’

I’m learning more, well starting to learn, about the craft of poetry too. I will record some of my endeavours here – as notes on my journey, so there will be more variety of subject, and form to come….
